[Objective
Ceramics has historically been an unattainable hobby for most low-income people. And while the ceramics world has grown immensely to accept different point of views, the clay world within the US is still rooted in whiteness. Introducing ceramics to kids who normally would have no access to this artform is long overdue. I plan to develop my evolving ceramic voice in conjunction with creating a program that introduces ceramics to BIPOC and low-income kids as an after school program.
